EVENTS

The Cultural Organization will put its own” stamp ” on the events organized by the municipality of Patras for Tsiknopempti (February 16th) this year from early morning by carrying out a series of actions in neighborhoods and squares of the city.

The events are dominated by the element of folk and tradition, with the shapes of the Cultural Organization and folk groups creating and presenting music , dances and songs harmonized with the spirit of the days.

In the afternoon, the public benefit of the Carnival of Patras takes the baton with the realization in the Upper Town of the event-parody of the “weddings of the Queen Of The Carnival” and concerts.

Folk Music will visit City’s primary schools

11.00   the wind ensemble of the Municipal Conservatory of Patras will play outside the Municipal Conservatory

11.00-14.30  the” Brass Band ” consisting of renowned virtuoso musicians of our city will tour throughout the city center with traditional songs.

12.00-15.00 AMPELOKIPI SQUARE

Folk traditional feast by a five-member orchestra

The group “Artists’ haunt ” will hold a folk feast with traditional song.

19.00-UPPER TOWN – ” THE WEDDING OF THE CARNIVAL QUEEN)

A parody on the theme of the “wedding of the Queen Of The Carnival” and starring the suitors who will try to steal her heart.

Based on a proposal of the Dance Department Cultural Organization with the participation of clubs.

19.00 SERENADER CONCERT (DANCE-SKALES GEROKOSTOPOULOS)

Concert with the participation of the Santa Maura Choirs-Association of Lefkadites of Patras “Faneromeni”.

21.00 GEORGIOU A ‘SQUARE-CONCERT WITH “GIDIKI”

A distinctive musical form with a special style which, through traditional instruments such as the lute, clarinet, violin, percussion, implements a modern approach to the traditional.

“GINTIKI” have been next to important artists such as Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Matoula Zamani, Chainides, Villagers of Ioannina City, Spyros Grammenos, Vasso Vassiliadou and to their credit have many live performances in Greece and in festivals abroad (France, Germany).
