INFO

The international fair Platforms Projects was launched in 2013 and its autonomous journey began in 2017.

This year again it has gathered entries from Greece and abroad, continuing to support independent artistic groups by showcasing the work of hundreds of artists. One of the constant aims of the organization is to create partnerships and friendly relations. Indeed, since the 2022 exhibition, more than forty exhibitions have been "born" through collaborations between artists who came into contact during the Platform Project.

The completion of a ten-year cycle is the occasion for the transfer of the exhibition to Technopolis and the opening to other forms of art as music, theatre and architecture will complete this year’s event. The alternation of artistic activities will be daily with educational programmes, guided tours, performances, lectures, etc.

This year exhibition will be an inter-route experience as the exhibition is housed in various areas of Technopolis and invites the visitor to tour the New Furnaces (Neoi Fournoi), the Air Vault (Aeriofylakio) and the Courtyard (Avli)

For the first time this year, the Platforms Project will host groups from the fields of theatre, music, architecture and design, expanding the international network that has already been created over the last 10 years and from which not only international collaborations but also friendships have emerged. The project is directed by Artemis Potamianou and  Michalis Argyrou. Artemis Potamianou is the artistic curator of Platforms Project 2023.

The aim of the Platforms Project is to highlight the group initiatives of Greek and foreign artists, contributing steadily to the search for solutions to contemporary artistic and theoretical issues that are posed internationally. The practice of interdisciplinary collaboration between different arts (visual arts, music, theatre, etc.) is and remains an issue of international artistic collaborative action, which from this year onwards the Platforms Project embraces.

For four days Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens will be a meeting and networking place for artistic groups from all over the world, giving the opportunity to the general art-loving public to get to know from the inside the freshest contemporary artistic creation, to discover new trends, to understand the value of collaboration in artistic practice and of course to see the artists themselves in action.

Alongside the Platforms Project 2023 exhibition, there will be talks, workshops, performances, workshops and, of course, the Kids Lab, the educational programme for children aged 4-16 years old. This year it is designed by the Greek platform POW WOW, which invites children during Platforms Project to create a large-scale interactive mural. The final result emphasizes children’s strong creativity and free expression.

Both the Platforms Project and Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens welcome pets.
