Platforms Project 2023 | 26 – 29 Οctober 2023 | Technopolis City of Athens

The international exhibition of the independent art scene comes from 26 to 29 October at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens.

The Platforms Project has completed its first decade of uninterrupted presence in Athens and celebrates it in a new venue, Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, with a rich and extended programme of participation:<strong 56 art  platforms from 24 countries  with more than 900 artists!

For the first time this year, the Platforms Project will host groups from the fields of theatre, music, architecture and design, expanding the international network that has already been created over the last 10 years and from which not only international collaborations but also friendships have emerged. The project is directed by Artemis Potamianou and  Michalis Argyrou. Artemis Potamianou is the artistic curator of Platforms Project 2023.

The aim of the Platforms Project is to highlight the group initiatives of Greek and foreign artists, contributing steadily to the search for solutions to contemporary artistic and theoretical issues that are posed internationally. The practice of interdisciplinary collaboration between different arts (visual arts, music, theatre, etc.) is and remains an issue of international artistic collaborative action, which from this year onwards the Platforms Project embraces.

For four days Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens will be a meeting and networking place for artistic groups from all over the world, giving the opportunity to the general art-loving public to get to know from the inside the freshest contemporary artistic creation, to discover new trends, to understand the value of collaboration in artistic practice and of course to see the artists themselves in action.

Alongside the Platforms Project 2023 exhibition, there will be talks, workshops, performances, workshops and, of course, the Kids Lab, the educational programme for children aged 4-16 years old. This year it is designed by the Greek platform POW WOW, which invites children during Platforms Project to create a large-scale interactive mural. The final result emphasizes children’s strong creativity and free expression.

Both the Platforms Project and Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens welcome pets.
