The Municipality of Agia in the framework of the European project DEVICE - Developing European Volunteers International Civic Engagement organized the 5th International Meeting in Agia from 22 to 26 July 2023.

On Monday 24 July 2023 at 18:30 in the former Municipal Council Hall at the "Chrysalis" Cultural Centre, the workshop "The social fabric of Europe: citizens contributions and recommendations" was held. The representatives of the project partners were welcomed by the Mayor of Agia Mr. Antonis Gountaras, who addressed the participants and gave them souvenirs. This was followed by a visit of the delegations to the Town Hall.

On Sunday 23 July 2023 at 22:00 at the Thalassa Theatre in Platanias Velika the musical theatre performance of the Dherynia Cyprus Theatre Club "Music meets Theatre"took place. The event was attended by the representatives of the project partners and a large audience.

During the course of the programme, presentations, visits and activities on volunteering and social solidarity took place.

The representatives of the project partners visited Metaxochori and the Monastery of St. John the Theologian.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Naxxar (Malta) Mrs Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami, the Mayor of Deryneia (Cyprus) Mr Andros Karagiannis and the Mayor of Strumyani (Bulgaria) Mr Emil-Iliev.

The project DEVICE - Developing European Volunteers International Civic Engagement, has been approved by the European Programme"Europe for citizens" and is 100% funded by the European Agency EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) of the European Commission.
