INFO

As every year, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) wears its festive dresses and welcomes the public for the change of time. The New Year’s Eve program opens at 22.30 Jerome Kaluta and his Big Band with a unique concert with soul and funk hits. The time changes with a spectacular fireworks show that will illuminate the attic sky, while, in the first minutes of the new year, the start signal is given for the first race of the year, the now established SNF RUN: 2023 first RUN of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Then a big party is set up in the market with Italian DJ Beppe Loda. The program could not be missing the impressive choreographies of the fountains in the canal. Hostess of the glamorous celebration is actress Nadia Kontogeorgi.

At the same time, The Ice Rink and the Stavros Niarchos Park remain open, only for this night, until 02.00 in the morning for those who want to welcome the New Year by doing stunts on the ice or playing with the impressive lighting facilities. Balloons for children, treats and many more surprises complete the New Year’s Eve setting at the SNFCC.

The SNFCC festive program will be broadcast live by ERT2 and the website snfcc.org.

All New Year’s Eve events take place with free admission thanks to the exclusive donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

DJ set: Beppe Loda

With the advent of 2023, the market welcomes the mythical Beppe Loda in a surprise DJ set with disco as its main ingredient.

A pioneer of the Afro movement in the mid-80s in northern Italy and the main DJ of the now legendary Typhoon club, Beppe Loda is considered by many to be one of the most influential and eclectic DJs of the last 30 years.

He experimented by seamlessly mixing various types of music that had never been heard before on the dancefloor worldwide – such as funky, afro, kraut, weird electronics, post wave, Brazilian music and obscure disco – thus creating a hybrid that later prevailed as cosmic.

His presence is constant in the best clubs and festivals around the world and his DJ sets on the PS1 of MoMA are characterized by many simply as”mythical”!

His last stop for this year, after his tour in America, is Athens and the emblematic space of the SNFCC.

SNF RUN: 2023 FIRST RUN

It is not a common way to celebrate the New Year, but this is also one of the elements that make it so unusually nice, having now conquered an audience of hundreds of people, that year after year it grows.

SNF RUN: first RUN of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), the first race of the year, starts at 00:04, just after the change of time and the impressive fireworks show and covers a 3 km route.

This year’S SNF run: first RUN is of particular importance, as 2023 marks 150 years since the birth of Spyros Louis, the first marathon winner, at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens. On the occasion of this anniversary, commemorative cups will be awarded to the first and the first to finish.

The race is also charitable this year. With the amount of money that will be collected from the symbolic cost of participation (minimum contribution of €5), two non-profit organizations that dedicate their work to children will be supported: Karkinaki and SVOURENIO Kdapamea Municipality of Kos.

The SNF RUN: 2023 first RUN does not have a racing character. However, there will be an official timekeeping so that all runners know their performance in winning the first goal of the year.

The SNF RUN: first RUN race takes place with an exclusive donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which covers all production costs. The organizing supervision of the race has the amke Anagennisi & Proodos and the Department of Sports Excellence / Sports Excellence of the first Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic of the Medical School of the University of Athens. The race takes place in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

Light and Water Dance!

Like every New Year’s Eve, the Christmas World of the SNFCC reaches its peak with a spectacular fireworks spectacle, but also with choreographies from the fountains in the canal! The fountains also welcome the new year with bright choreographies and invite us to enjoy an unforgettable spectacle with favorite melodies.
